This development constantly leads to new loopholes and flaws, and this is where the role of cyber security professionals becomes critically important. Marcus Hutchins, a cyber security researcher, accidentally found a hidden web address in the infamous WannaCry code that was used to hit the NHS. This enabled him to stop it in its tracks by registering the domain name the malware used. Marcus does however caution that attackers can always change the code to use new URL and try again. He urges people to constantly keep their systems updated to prevent attacks or hire cyber security professionals to protect their systems and guard against cyber threats.
