UK Tech Hiring Intelligence
How these insights are produced.
A transparent account of the sources, quality gates and limitations behind every number.
From career page to public statistic
- The Recruitment Engine discovers public employer career pages and extracts possible job titles. Its Facebook publishing tables and filters are never read.
- Source metadata is copied into the website database. Recruitment agencies, job boards and aggregators are excluded from public reporting.
- The website applies its own versioned, editable all-IT taxonomy. It covers software, data and AI, infrastructure, cloud, networks, security, service desk, QA, databases, enterprise applications, architecture, product, UX, embedded systems and technology leadership.
- Included records are normalised into job families, skills, locations, working arrangements, seniority and advertised salary fields.
- Only UK records above the public confidence threshold contribute to the dashboards. Publishing a new taxonomy rebuilds the reporting projection without changing crawler data.
Definitions and limitations
- Observed job: a classified posting seen by the system, not a claim about the entire labour market.
- Currently observed: not subsequently seen as removed; it may still have been filled or withdrawn.
- New: first observed by this system, which may be later than the employer's publication date.
- Salary: an advertised numeric GBP amount; non-numeric descriptions are excluded.
- Location: the role's stated work location, not necessarily the employer's headquarters.
