The Technical Architect role As a Technical Architect at Xtravirt, you will act as a subject matter expert across your technology specialisms, leading the successful design and delivery of technical solutions that meet customers’ business requirements. You will work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure seamless implementation, adoption, and long-term value realisation. You will also play a key role within Xtravirt’s wider Architecture Team, contributing to the definition of technical standards, best practices, and thought leadership. A passion for coaching and mentoring is essential, as you will support colleagues across teams in strengthening both their technical and professional capabilities. Key responsibilities Designing Technology Solutions Analyse and interpret customer business requirements, translating them into robust technical specifications Develop solution architectures, topologies, and diagrams Select suitable technologies, platforms, and frameworks to meet functionality, scalability, and performance goals Managing Solution Implementation Oversee and guide the implementation of approved solution designs Collaborate with technical and delivery teams to ensure successful execution Provide direction to customers throughout the delivery lifecycle Monitor progress, identifying and resolving risks, issues, or deviations from the agreed plan Coordinating with Stakeholders Act as a key interface between technical and non‑technical stakeholders Communicate effectively with business leaders, project managers, and customer stakeholders to maintain alignment Present solutions clearly and meaningfully to diverse audiences Facilitate discussions to resolve conflicting expectations or requirements Identify new opportunities within customer environments and support Xtravirt’s customer success strategy Ensuring Solution Reliability, Performance & Adoption Conduct testing and quality assurance to detect and address issues or vulnerabilities Apply best practices for scalability, optimisation, reliability, and security Work with Business Operations teams to support capability building and knowledge transfer Leadership & Guidance Mentor and coach colleagues across delivery and technical teams Establish and promote best practices for architecture and solution design Act as a subject matter expert on emerging technologies, industry trends, and toolsets Continuous Improvement & Innovation Stay ahead of technological advancements and assess their relevance to Xtravirt Identify opportunities for process optimisation and automation Lead or contribute to innovation pilots exploring new methodologies and technologies Key Skills & Experience A successful Xtravirt Technical Architect will: Live and embody Xtravirt’s culture, strategy, priorities, and services Hold VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) or equivalent certifications in at least two specialisms Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing high-quality documentation and presenting to varied audiences Demonstrate strong planning and organisational ability, operating effectively at both strategic and operational levels Show confidence in strategic and operational decision-making Have working knowledge of programme and project management, including risk, issue, and dependency management Be able to challenge teams and stakeholders constructively to drive performance and service excellence Remain calm and effective when managing conflicting priorities in fast‑moving environments Maintain a strong customer focus Actively participate in vendor communities (e.g., VMUG), contribute to blogs, or support Xtravirt’s content initiatives on digital platforms Benefits 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays Hybrid working Pension and life assurance Wellbeing, financial and legal support Employee Benefits platform Long service awards Regular evaluation and salary reviews Refer a friend bonus scheme Staff recognition awards Regular company and social events Take the next step Apply online by completing the online form on the website job description page (include your CV and covering letter), alternatively, for job enquiries please email careers@xtravirt.com .
