top of page < Back Senior Telecommunications Engineer Apply Now UK Job Type Full Time Workspace London About the Role We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Telecommunications Engineer to join our technical team, providing advanced support for our data center and telecom infrastructure services. This is a critical role that involves the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise-level network systems for a variety of clients. You will lead technical projects, manage complex network configurations, and provide strategic input on infrastructure improvements. This position is ideal for professionals with deep hands-on experience and a passion for delivering high-performance, reliable telecommunications solutions. Requirements Design, install, and configure telecom and network systems, including routers, switches, servers, and VoIP devices Install and maintain operating systems, antivirus software, and other enterprise applications Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network faults efficiently Provide both on-site and remote technical support to clients, ensuring minimal downtime Perform structured cabling and rack installations in data centers and telecom environments Manage server backups and ensure data recovery processes are in place Maintain up-to-date hardware and software inventories Document installation procedures, network configurations, and maintenance activities Lead or support infrastructure upgrade projects and system migrations Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers as needed Required Skills & Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in telecommunications or network engineering Proven expertise in configuring and troubleshooting network equipment (Cisco, Juniper, etc.) Strong understanding of data center operations, structured cabling, and system maintenance Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as OTDR, cable testers, and network analyzers Hands-on experience with operating systems (Windows/Linux) and virtualization platforms Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or BICSI preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and client-facing skills Education Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Networks, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) About the Company Genesis Communications Limited, established in 2019 and headquartered in London, is a leading IT information services company with a global workforce partnership approach.
