back to careers Front End Developer Skylab is a digital agency specialising in digital strategy and software development based in Trafford Park in Manchester - we’re hiring a number of additional developers. What you’ll be doing: Our staff work across all aspects of the delivery process in small, cross-functional teams creating WordPress sites and bespoke web applications. Some current projects include websites for international sporting federations, content management APIs and bespoke social networks. The role will be a blend of architecting solutions, hands-on development, code reviews, helping set standards and getting involved in writing technical documents and proposals. We will happily talk to you about your natural strengths and also the areas that you are keen to improve. Skylab is a wonderful journey and we are here to help you every step of the way. You definitely: Have at least three years commercial experience. Are a smart, motivated, focused person who enjoys producing amazing software. Are highly proficient in traditional HTML & CSS methodologies. Have an excellent understanding of CSS pre-processors such as SASS (SCSS). Excel in both vanilla JavaScript & a range of JavaScript libraries. Have an eye for great UI and the ability to recommend changes to fix usability issues. Highly competent in using task runners such as Grunt & Gulp, along with a solid understanding of Node Package Manager. Have experience in web performance optimization and profiling. Exhibit good written and verbal communication skills, and willingness to work with the team. It’d be nice if you: Have a working knowledge of PHP and MySQL. Had some commercial experience writing applications in Node.js. Have experience with Git. Are proficient with tools and applications such as Omnigraffle and Adobe Creative Suite.
