My client is based in Gravesend so you must be able to get into Gravesend/Kent, once or twice a week. Sorry my client cannot take on people that need sponsoring or have post study visas so please do NOT apply if you have these. Job purpose; You will be working in a small team with direct contact with stakeholders and users. One of the key operational systems the team is responsible for is the in-house Port Management system. This software is written in the lo-code framework, Uniface. Prior Uniface experience is desirable but not required as training will be provided for a candidate with the right skillset, attitude and willingness to learn. Job Responsibilities: Take business requirements from conception to implementation utilising the Uniface platform and the underlying SQL server infrastructure. Diagnose and resolve problems in a professional and timely manner, including providing 3rd line technical support. Skills required: 8 yrs+ years’ hands on experience in developing and supporting business applications in an enterprise environment. Strong knowledge and experience of supporting and maintaining a SQL database server environment and associated database management. Technically proficient understanding of server-infrastructure, networking infrastructure, and cyber security infrastructure. Able to influence and negotiate at an individual, team and team to team level, with excellent customer-service skills. To learn and pickup other Technologies and the ability to digest new skills, is essential. Degree in an IT, computer science, software development related discipline. This position comes with good benefits and this is a Monday – Friday/35 hrs working week so typically 9am-5pm – 8am-4pm (flexible WH) with an hour for lunch.
