Summary In this role, you’ll contribute to technology that helps customers make the world safer and fairer. As a Platform Engineer, you’ll design, build, and maintain our Internal Developer Platform (IDP) and cloud infrastructure—enabling engineering teams to ship high-quality software faster and more reliably. Key responsibilities Build and evolve self-service tooling, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes clusters, and cloud environments (Azure) Implement Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform and Ansible, alongside GitOps workflows Create “golden paths” and “paved roads” to reduce cognitive load and improve developer experience Monitor, optimise, and ensure security, scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency of the platform Collaborate with SRE, Security, and application teams to define standards and best practices Automate repetitive tasks and reduce toil through tooling, documentation, and runbooks Drive adoption of modern platform practices such as observability, progressive delivery, and chaos engineering We’re looking for someone who is Empathetic toward developers and passionate about reducing friction Comfortable with ambiguity and able to drive initiatives end-to-end Energised by a fast-paced environment Curious and committed to continuous learning and knowledge-sharing A strong communicator with a sense of ownership and a bias for action Your experience 3+ years’ experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure roles A proven track record of building and scaling production-grade systems Experience working in agile teams with fast iteration cycles Exposure to large-scale deployments supporting 100+ developers or multiple product teams Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed systems, with a focus on performance and cost optimisation What we offer 25 days annual leave 2 “Moment in Time” days Life assurance (4x base salary) Private pension (Scottish Widows) Healthcare cash plan Hybrid working model Additional leave with length of service Apply Need help?
