They are seeking an experienced Workday Grants Consultant with deep functional expertise across the end-to-end Grants lifecycle. This role is critical in optimizing their existing Workday Grants configuration, redesigning key processes, and driving stronger compliance, financial stewardship, and reporting accuracy across a diverse global portfolio. The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience configuring the Workday Grants Management module, strong knowledge of award lifecycle controls, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, Research, Sponsored Programs, and IT. Key Responsibilities: Lead the configuration, enhancement, and stabilization of Workday Grants, including Award creation, FDM alignment, billing & invoicing, effort reporting, award budgets, cost share, and sponsor reporting. Partner with Grants Accounting, Research Administration, and Finance SMEs to gather requirements and translate them into scalable Workday design. Review and refine existing configuration to ensure compliance with sponsor guidelines, federal regulations, and internal controls. Support the full award lifecycle within Workday—including proposal, award setup, revenue recognition, expenditure tracking, billing, and close-out. Build and optimize Grants reports and dashboards (custom reports, matrix reports, sponsor reporting datasets). Troubleshoot defects, perform root-cause analysis, and drive remediation activities across Grants, Projects, FDM, and Financial Accounting. Support testing cycles (SIT, UAT, regression) and ensure accurate validation of award data, costing allocations, and billing events. Develop documentation, SOPs, and provide knowledge transfer to internal Grants and Finance teams. Requirements: Proven hands-on experience with Workday Grants Management on complex transformation or optimization projects. Strong understanding of the full award lifecycle, including award setup, billing schedules, F&A rates, spending controls, cost share, revenue recognition, and close-out processes. Ability to configure Grants functionality, including award templates, billing setups, sponsor definitions, award budgets, and project worktags. Experience collaborating with Finance, Research, Sponsored Programs, and Compliance teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detailed understanding of Grants reporting and audit requirements. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across functional and technical workstreams.
