Role: Senior Software EngineerLocation: Canary Wharf, Central LondonSalary: £70,000-£75,000 Plus Hybrid / Flexible Working, Company Bonus, Generous Pension and more.We are working with a well-funded, mission-driven organisation in the renewable energy space looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer into a core engineering team.You’ll be working on complex, large-scale platforms supporting critical infrastructure at a national level.This is a high-impact engineering environment where strong technical input genuinely matters.You’ll be responsible not just for building software, but for contributing to technical direction, design decisions, and engineering standards across the team.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and scale high-performance, cloud-based applicationsDevelop backend services using Python (Django)Work across TypeScript / JavaScript where neededContribute to technical design, architecture, and engineering best practicesProvide technical leadership, supporting and mentoring other engineersImprove system performance, scalability, and reliabilityCollaborate with Product, QA and DevOps to deliver featuresRequirementsStrong experience with Python (Django)Experience with JavaScript / TypeScript Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure or GCP)Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, and scalable systemsExperience contributing to technical design or architecture decisionsAbility to provide technical leadership and mentor othersExperience working in modern engineering environments (CI/CD, Agile)Desirable SkillsExperience with React, Node.js, Terraform or CeleryStrong database design and optimisation experienceIf you’re a Senior Engineer looking for a role combining hands-on development, technical ownership, and real-world impact, this is worth a conversation.
