About the Role – We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil / Infrastructure Engineer to join the Huddersfield Office, with demonstrable experience in a similar role within an engineering consultancy. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in one of the UK’s leading private Engineering Consultancies, providing integrated solutions for a range of public and private clients. RESPONSIBILITIES Liaise with architects, clients and other professionals whilst carrying out duties and at all times represent the practice in a professional and courteous way. Manage projects, providing support, mentoring and guidance to less experienced colleagues Client facing, with the ability to represent the Company externally, alongside managing their own workload and the ability to manage a number of projects at any one time. Check calculations, specifications, drawings and reports produced by others, in accordance with the company’s operational procedures. Excellent communications skills are paramount and to be capable of managing design teams both internally and externally. Undertake site visits to monitor the progress of works against specifications, and highlight issues to the contractor, client and/or (internal or external) project manager as necessary. QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE Degree qualified with relevant experience in a similar practice. Experience of working in all development sectors. Experience in highway and drainage design with a working knowledge of UK design standards is needed, together with the ability to balance several projects and meet project timetables. Experience in using AutoCAD, MicroDrainage, Flow and/or other civil engineering packages to design and detail highway and drainage infrastructure and other civil engineering requirements on residential, commercial, industrial developments and all other sector developments. Working knowledge of Highway Authority Sections 38 and 278 Agreements and Water Authority Sections 102, 104, 106, 116 and 185 Agreements. Ability to produce (or assist) engineering supporting reports for planning applications such as Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategy and Assessments, Site Viability assessments etc. As a member of the team you will demonstrate strong team work qualities and be self-motivated Full clean driving licence. The desire and ambition to promote the company from within. This may involve representing Sanderson Associates at external networking and social events.
