At Methods we have fun while working hard; we are not afraid of making mistakes and learning from them.Predominantly focused on the public-sector, Methods is now building a significant private sector client portfolio. Methods was acquired by the Alten Group in early 2022.About the roleWe are looking for an experienced EUC Engineer to join a major technology transformation programme and play a key role in delivering the organisation's future endpoint and end-user computing services. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on the implementation, testing, migration and operational support of modern endpoint services across a large and potentially complex user and device estate. You will work across Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, Windows Autopilot, Windows endpoint management, application deployment and endpoint security, helping to establish consistent and repeatable processes for provisioning and migrating users and devices.A key part of the role will be supporting endpoint pilots and migration waves. You will help prepare devices and users for migration, execute repeatable deployment processes, troubleshoot issues and provide technical support throughout cutover and early-life support. You will work closely with identity, security, network, application, service transition and programme teams to ensure endpoint services are technically ready and integrated with the wider transformation. The successful candidate will combine strong hands-on Windows and modern management skills with a structured approach to testing, troubleshooting, documentation and automation. What you will doAs an EUC Engineer, you will be responsible for the engineering and delivery of endpoint services throughout the transformation lifecycle. You will:Configure and manage Microsoft Intune enrolment, compliance, configuration, update, security and application-deployment policies.Design, build and test Windows Autopilot profiles and provisioning processes.Implement and support Entra ID Join patterns and modern device-registration and provisioning approaches.Develop repeatable processes for enrolling, configuring and validating Windows devices at scale.Prepare and execute endpoint pilots and migration waves, working with agreed user and device cohorts.Consider user-state, profile, application, configuration and data requirements as part of device migration planning.Deploy, configure and troubleshoot packaged applications, scripts and endpoint configuration.Manage and troubleshoot endpoint dependencies including certificates, VPN, security controls and Conditional Access.Configure and support endpoint security capabilities, including Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, BitLocker and device compliance controls.Investigate and resolve complex Windows, device, application, authentication and connectivity issues.Analyse endpoint logs, Intune reporting, Windows event information and other diagnostic data to identify root causes and implement effective fixes.Collect and analyse device readiness, enrolment, compliance and migration data ahead of each migration wave.Identify endpoint defects and work with relevant technical teams to resolve issues before they impact migration or cutover.Support technical cutover activity and provide hands-on engineering support during migration and early-life support periods.Develop and maintain repeatable endpoint configuration, validation and reporting processes.Use PowerShell and Microsoft Graph to automate repetitive engineering, configuration, validation and reporting tasks.Identify opportunities to improve automation and reduce manual effort across the endpoint migration process.Produce and maintain configuration records, engineering runbooks, build documentation and operational procedures.Create and maintain technical test plans, test evidence and implementation records.Support knowledge transfer and handover to operational and support teams.Work closely with service transition teams to ensure that endpoint services are supportable and operationally ready.Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement across successive endpoint migration waves. Skills and experience requiredWe are looking for an experienced EUC or Endpoint Engineer with strong hands-on experience of modern Microsoft endpoint technologies. You will ideally have:Strong practical experience with Microsoft Intune, Entra ID Join and Windows Autopilot.Extensive Windows endpoint administration and troubleshooting experience.Experience designing and implementing Intune configuration, compliance, security, update and application-deployment policies.Proven experience provisioning and migrating Windows devices at scale.Experience delivering endpoint migrations across multiple user and device cohorts.Strong understanding of Windows profiles, user state, application deployment and device provisioning.Strong application-packaging and deployment experience.Experience working with PowerShell and Microsoft Graph for automation and administration.Good knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and endpoint security controls.Strong understanding of BitLocker, certificates, VPN and Conditional Access dependencies.Experience troubleshooting device enrolment, compliance, policy, authentication, application and connectivity issues.Ability to analyse logs and diagnostic information to identify complex technical problems and determine root cause.Experience supporting technical pilots, migration waves, cutovers and early-life support.Strong understanding of endpoint security and modern management principles.Experience working with identity, infrastructure, network and application teams to resolve cross-technology dependencies.Strong testing skills, including the ability to produce test plans, evidence and defect records.Good documentation skills, including configuration records, engineering runbooks and operational procedures.Strong customer-support and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to users and stakeholders. What we are looking for in youYou will be a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving technical problems and making things work reliably at scale. You will be comfortable getting into the detail of an individual device or application issue while understanding how that issue could affect a wider migration wave. You will have a structured approach to troubleshooting and will use evidence, logs and data rather than assumptions to identify root causes. You will also be proactive about automation and continuous improvement. Rather than repeatedly solving the same problem manually, you will look for opportunities to create a script, process or control that makes the next migration faster and more reliable. You will be comfortable working in a programme environment where priorities can change and where successful delivery depends on close collaboration with other technical teams. You will have strong communication skills and be able to work effectively with engineers, architects, security specialists, service desk teams, project managers and end users. Most importantly, you will understand that successful endpoint transformation is about more than deploying devices — it is about delivering a secure, reliable and supportable user experience.
