About this role

We are a growing group of multi-disciplined, talented individuals across several different units: Digital Content Curation, Digital Product, and Production and Development. We’re responsible for growing digital audiences, supporting transformative change across UKTV and contributing to UKTV’s long-term profitability.We are focused on delivering functionality that provides key business and user value. In addition to delivering change on time and within budget, the team also support the business to define, prioritise and deliver key strategic technical, commercial and operational activities. The Digital Products team has responsibility for the strategic road mapping, planning, rollout, and continuous improvement of UKTV’s VoD digital products (U), across a range of platforms including web, iOS, Android, and Connected TV devices. We also support key high value initiatives across the UKTV business, working closely with Ad sales, Commercial, Legal, Operations and Marketing functions.Purpose of the role As a UX/UI Designer, you will help shape the future of UKTV's Video on Demand products across Web, Mobile and Connected TV. Working within a collaborative Product, Design and development team, you'll create intuitive, accessible and engaging experiences that help millions of viewers discover and enjoy great content on U.You'll be involved throughout the design process, from discovery and user research through to high-fidelity designs and supporting delivery using customer insight, data and creativity to solve real user problems. ExperienceDesigning digital consumer products across web, mobile or TV platforms.Working across the end-to-end design process, from discovery through to delivery.Creating user journeys, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs.Working collaboratively within Agile product teams.Contributing to or working with a design system.Validating designs through user research, usability testing or analytics.KnowledgeStrong understanding of user-centred design principles.Knowledge of interaction design, information architecture and visual design.Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design best practices.Knowledge of responsive and adaptive design across multiple devices and platforms.Understanding of how data and customer insight can inform design decisions.Awareness of current UX/UI trends, tools and emerging technologies.Skills & Personal QualitiesProficient in Figma for design, prototyping and collaboration.Ability to create clear user flows, wireframes, prototypes and production-ready UI.Strong visual design and interaction design skills.Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain design decisions.Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality work.Comfortable collaborating with Product Managers, Engineers and stakeholders throughout the design process.Collaborative and supportive, with a team-first mindset. Design engaging user experiences across Web, Mobile and Connected TV platforms.Work closely with Product Owners, Developers and wider teams to solve user problems.Create user journeys, wireframes, prototypes and production-ready UI designs.Contribute to discovery activities including design spikes, workshops and concept exploration.Design accessible experiences that meet industry standards and best practices.Maintain and evolve the design system to ensure consistency across products.Collaborate with Developers and QA to ensure designs are implemented accurately.Use customer research, analytics and usability testing to validate design decisions.Present concepts and design work to stakeholders, explaining the rationale behind your decisions.Work collaboratively within Agile squads, participating in planning, stand-ups, retrospectives and showcases.Support the wider Product Design team by sharing knowledge, providing constructive feedback and championing best practice.Hybrid-WorkingAt UKTV, we are working in a hybrid environment with a mixture of home and office working.
