About this role

top of page < Back Lead Software Engineer Team Dev Team, Engineering Team Office type Remote, Hybrid, On-site Location Cambridge, UK Apply Now About the role As a Lead Software Engineer you'd build the systems behind StackCX, from the moment a call comes in to the insight a manager reads in the browser. You'd own features end to end; design, build, test and ship to production. What you'll be doing This role suits someone who likes variety. The work spans infrastructure, integrations, AI pipelines, the product, our CI, customer calls, and internal projects. You'd move between them as the work demands. You'll like it here if: You'd rather work across the product than own one narrow slice of it You're happy picking up something you've not done before You're drawn to the variety rather than wary of it We're not expecting all of this on day one, or that you've done it all before. What you'll be using Backend: Python and Django, on a service-based architecture with a strong focus on multi-tenant data isolation. Frontend: JavaScript, Vite, SCSS. Cloud and infrastructure: AWS, managed with Pulumi. ECS/Fargate, Docker, ALB, SQS, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, ElastiCache, WAF, CloudWatch, and more. Data: Postgres, Valkey. What we're looking for You don't need our exact stack. We care more that you're a strong engineer who picks things up fast. If you've built and run production systems in another language or framework, we'd like to see your CV. It helps if you've worked with some of: Python, or another backend language you know well. JavaScript on the frontend. Claude Code, Cursor or Codex. A relational database like Postgres. AWS, or another cloud (ECS/Fargate, Lambda, SQS, S3, or the equivalents). Docker. Infrastructure as code (Pulumi, Terraform, or similar). LLM and AI integrations, or event-driven pipelines. A plus, not a must. It's also a plus if you're someone comfortable working with customers directly. Why StackCX You'd own real features end to end, not tickets off a backlog. Small team, direct impact. What you ship reaches dealers around the world. Room to grow as we do. Apply now About StackCX StackCX is a fast-growing AI-powered customer experience platform, helping businesses transform how they manage customer interactions, improve performance, and drive better outcomes. Working with leading automotive and service-based organisations, we provide real-time insights, call analysis, and workflow automation that puts customer experience at the heart of everything.
