How we measured it
We read the AI passages of job adverts on UK employers' own careers pages and matched named tools and model families (ChatGPT/OpenAI, Claude, Copilot, Gemini and others). An employer counts once however many adverts name a tool. The developer comparison uses public GitHub repositories of UK-based developers.
Ask what tools a company names in its job adverts and you get a short list. What employers think candidates will actually need is converging on a handful of names.
