PBI’s flagship products and services, PBI Axiom, PBI Vector, and PBI Stratus, enable alternative asset managers to address their data challenges in analytics, workflow, governance, and security.PBI is looking for a Senior Azure Cloud & Platform Engineer.The successful candidate will act as the technical owner of the Azure platform, working closely with external development and engineering partners. They will ensure that deployed systems align with the intended architecture, support secure and stable operations, and improve ownership across Identity and Access Management, Disaster Recovery, and Monitoring and Observability.Main Responsibilities Oversee the Azure environment, including subscriptions, landing zones, networking, connectivity and platform dependenciesValidate that deployed infrastructure aligns with documented architecture and security requirementsInvestigate issues across infrastructure, APIs, applications and integrationsReview Entra ID, Azure RBAC, PIM, privileged access, service identities and supplier accessEnsure least-privilege principles and effective joiner, mover and leaver processesAssess disaster-recovery capabilities, including dependencies, RTOs, RPOs, backups, runbooks, responsibilities and test evidenceReview monitoring coverage, alerts, dashboards, escalation processes and operational blind spotsRead, modify and improve Terraform configurationsSupport CI/CD pipelines and create scripts or small automation tools when requiredDiagnose production issues and develop practical runbooks and technical documentationAct as the internal technical counterpart to external providers, reviewing and constructively challenging proposed changesIdentify gaps between documented design, deployed configuration and actual operating practiceCommunicate risks, findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders EssentialStrong hands-on experience with Microsoft AzureExperience supporting live, business-critical production environmentsExperience across cloud architecture, platform engineering and operationsPractical Infrastructure as Code experience, preferably with TerraformStrong knowledge of Entra ID, Azure RBAC and PIMExperience with monitoring, logging, alerting and incident investigationUnderstanding of disaster recovery, backups, RTOs, RPOs and recovery testingExperience working with API-driven services and distributed platformsAbility to troubleshoot across infrastructure, applications and integrationsFamiliarity with scripting, automation and CI/CD pipelinesStrong technical documentation and runbook-development skillsAbility to work independently, take ownership and exercise sound technical judgementConfidence working with and challenging external technical partnersStrong written and verbal communication skillsDesirableExperience across both Microsoft 365 and AzureKnowledge of Azure DevOps permissions and platform access controlsExperience conducting cloud-platform assessments or technical discoveryExperience supporting security audits, including Cyber Essentials PlusExperience reviewing disaster-recovery strategies and monitoring frameworksExperience working with multiple external technology suppliers You would be part of an international team of people, working on the latest technology and at the forefront of automation and innovation.
